Details

We have several remote debugging clients, some of them we instrument. But others, like VS Code and node.js clients, we don't know much about atm.

If would be good to fire a telemetry event with basic client information when a remote connection is accepted; so know which of use cases remote debugging is being used for.

This telemetry would fire when a connection is successfully established, exact definition TBD with engineering feedback.

Another open question is what kind of client data is available or could be deferred. Chrome does know when VSCode connects, as they show a custom paused overlay.

Blocks: dt-vscode

:jdescottes mentioned that Firefox does not get any data about remote connections atm, so we don't get client data.

This data would still be useful, even without knowing which client established the connection.
