Description:
Print preview is not showing images. (Not showing images on nightly version. It is working on beta and release.)
Steps to reproduce
- Go to https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argentina
- go to hamburger menu > Print the page
- Print preview shows empty boxes where images are supposed to show up, almost all images are missing
- (only if i click the simplify page box, images start to appear.)
Actual Result
Print preview screen only shows text, images are missing or have a white box
Expected Result
Images should show up on print preview.
Tested on:
Windows10 64 bit
Firefox release 68.0.2 shows images
Firefox beta 69 shows images
Firefox nightly 70.0a1 not loading images
Ubuntu 18.04 64bit
Firefox release 68.0.2 shows images
Firefox beta 69 shows images
Firefox nightly 70.0a1 not loading images
MacOs
There is no print preview on MAC0s print
Notes:
There is an old similar bug to this one but that one is regarding checking the "simplify page box" and the images will not show up.
Right now "simplify page box" does show the images, but print preview by default (without simplify page) is not showing images.
Regression-Range
Will do mozregression once i have some time free.

[Tracking Requested - why for this release]: Regression in Firefox 70, which we should strive to fix before shipping 70.

This is caused by the same root issue as bug 1577711, and the fix I am attaching to that bug should also fix this issue.

Can you verify that it works now in either Nightly or Beta? Thanks!

I don't think this is my fault. Looks more like a layout/rendering bug to me. The header showing the page title is being rendered stretched over the document, in an apparently non-deterministic way.
Managed to reproduce on latest nightly (Sep 11th 2019), but :smaug was unable to reproduce it on the Sep 10th nightly. We tried to reproduce on Beta, but it appears b6 hasn't been released yet, so nobody had a convenient build.
I think this was regressed by some other change since Sep 10th.

Setting the Fx70 status to fixed since bug 1577711 was uplifted for b6. Sounds like we may want a new bug filed for comment 8.
