Steps to reproduce:

Send some tabs from Firefox Desktop to Firefox Mobile before turn off PC.
Click "Firefox Account" button (icon) on toolbar to open submenu, see syncing process and wait until it finishes to turn off PC.

Actual results:

Icon with sync process animation resides in submenu and hidden from watching it.

Expected results:

Animated icon on toolbar (for example, "account" icon can be animated) to indicate so important process such account syncing.

p.s.
Screenshots are made in previous version of Firefox, but actual in Nightly version.

Thanks for reporting this enhancement to the Firefox Sync Account feature.
I'll add a product and component so the corresponding team can take a look at this.

I appreciate the eye for details! However, it is engineered as designed as we don't want to draw top-level attention away to what is usually a background process.
