safari on macbook pro and iphone
Do you have something set up that synchronizes your Firefox bookmarks to Safari on these devices?

Ad-don =
iCloud-bladwijzers

Thanks! If I understand correctly this corresponds to the following addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/icloud-bookmarks/
So I suspect there may be some bad interaction between that addon and the builtin Firefox Sync.

Having multiple sync systems trying to work with the same set of bookmarks is always going to be problematic - both assume they "own" the data and probably aren't expecting something else to be doing "strange" things to it. This probably isn't really actionable by us other than maybe refusing to sync when we detect incompatible addons.
Veld, why do you use both? Why not just rely on icloud-bookmarks to sync with Firefox?

Google translates comment 5 as:
No idea how everything works. It always went well until a few months ago.
To enable iCloud Bookmarks in Firefox, firefox redirects me to icloud to indicate that I allow synchronization, but I really have no idea how everything works and why firefox uses the bookmarks twice.
I don't think there's much we can do here? But I also don't think we should close it because it's probably an ongoing issue for a number of users.
