Spun up a test pool of five nodes using gw 16.2.0.
Try push using pool: https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=try&revision=1ff6bdc0b0e33183cd8f97a4fa0da5cec6f65c36

Bob: Typically I ask Joel to take a look at test results before pushing out a significant configuration change to Windows hardware. Could you take a look at https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=try&revision=1ff6bdc0b0e33183cd8f97a4fa0da5cec6f65c36 to see if there is anything concerning?

Sure. I have a meeting shortly but will begin looking as soon as that is completed.

I tried to use perfherder to compare the results but wasn't clear as to the significance of the differences. I added new jobs to get 3 each and the alerts changed a bit but again it isn't clear to me what the significance of comparing to mozilla-central with its always changing results.
One thing though is that Windows 10 x64 2017 Ref HW opt has not picked up any of the raptor jobs. Is that expected?
I'm going to punt to :igoldan for help.

That is unrelated to gecko-t-win10-64-hw. That is going to be related to bug 1579894. I am currently waiting on BItbar to spin up a laptop using the test workerType.

Can you share a link? If you haven't selected the Compare with a specific revision checkbox from the Base selector in Compare view, you will always see this mozilla-central variance.
The best way to do this is to compare 2 Try pushes: one without the change, the 2nd one with the change.
Then do at least 5 retriggers for each job.

Bebe, do you know something about this?

Re base try + try with patches, understood. I didn't trigger a base run to compare against.
I used https://treeherder.mozilla.org/#/jobs?repo=try&revision=1ff6bdc0b0e33183cd8f97a4fa0da5cec6f65c36 and selected either a talos job then opened Compare result against another revision then selected against the mozilla-central project.
markco: Is https://hg.mozilla.org/try/rev/1ff6bdc0b0e33183cd8f97a4fa0da5cec6f65c36 the only patch you applied?

markco answered that in comment 5 I think.

base and patched try runs. I'll add more talos jobs when they have finished building. More news later today. Sorry for the delay.

Tested try locally and it should pickup the tests on that hw:
