Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create new message.
  2. Try drag and drop file from desktop.
  3. Try drag and drop file from Explorer.exe folder view.

Actual results:

No drop cursor symbol is shown. No drop is available.

Expected results:

Drop should be available as it is for instance now from Total Commander (9.22a 64 bit).

(TB 60.9.0 32 bit. Windows 10, version 1809, build 17763.720.)

Sorry, the TB 60.x series has come to the end of its life-cycle with TB 60.9.

Dragging from Windows Explorer into a compose window of TB 68 works fine, as it did for TB 60.x. Check the TB 68.0 release at www.thunderbird.net.

If I understand you well you’re telling me that TB 61.x is without this issue. Right?

Flags: needinfo?(jorgk)

As far as I can tell, dragging a file from Windows Explorer onto a Write window works in TB 60.9 ESR (just tried it) as well as TB 68 ESR (six eight).

We can't guarantee that it will work from other third party software, like Explorer++ and all the other various "commander" applications.

You’re right. I just verified expected function on personal device. 😶 Perhpas it was temporary issue. I’ll verify it again tomorrow on the other device.

It was temporary issue. Function verified.

I tried to change to invalid but not having sufficient rights to do so.
