User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/77.0.3865.75 Safari/537.36
Steps to reproduce:
NSPR_LOG_FILE=C:\imap.log
NSPR_LOG_MODULES=imap:5,smtp:5,pop3:5,timestamp,sync
Actual results:
The debug log is 0 bytes. Notepad++ tells me it's modified but whenever I reload it it's still 0 bytes.
Expected results:
All debug data should be output immediately like it was in previous versions. Today I am trying to debug a problem connecting to yahoo's IMAP server and I can't do that because no debug information is written. I thought maybe a buffer wasn't flushed or something so I've tried exiting the program but there's no change. I've repeated this several times.

Which version did you use before? The options are case sensitive, so "imap" hasn't worked for a while. See: https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging

better and works on all platforms:
MOZ_LOG_FILE=C:\imap.log
MOZ_LOG=IMAP:5,SMTP:5,POP3:5,timestamp,sync
Have to run tb after these are defined.
The NSPR thing is deprecated but I thought it still works. Also, thought case-insensitive on windows, not on linux, don't know about apple.

I wouldn't count on NSPR_LOG_xx working. The following worked for me
MOZ_LOG_FILE=C:\temp\imap.log
MOZ_LOG=imap:5,smtp:5,pop3:5,timestamp,sync
I doubt there is a bug. The documenation might not be solid on case senstivity - it was stolen from some bug report or other doc.

Thanks for the examples. I played around with them and what has changed is the lowercase no longer works here whereas it did for prior versions. Either of these work with Thunderbird 68 on Windows 7 Enterprise:
NSPR_LOG_FILE=C:\imap.log
NSPR_LOG_MODULES=IMAP:5,SMTP:5,POP3:5,timestamp,sync
MOZ_LOG_FILE=C:\temp\imap.log
MOZ_LOG=IMAP:5,SMTP:5,POP3:5,timestamp,sync
I don't know whether it is a bug that lowercase no longer works. If you want me to test anything it's no problem let me know.

The documentation says that this is now case-sensitive, and yes, this has changed.
