Steps to reproduce:

I came to mozilla bugzilla to open a bug.

Actual results:

I run a dark theme, and my text doesn't show up in the text box when I type, because it is black on black. I have to go into preferences and say to use site color preferences always so it works.

Expected results:

I can type into a bugzilla from the dark theme, and the text shows.

Since this looks like an enhancement I will mark it accordingly and set a component for it. If it's not the right component though please feel free to change it to a more suitable one.

We haven’t heard of this kind of issue from Bugzilla users. Since you’re using Linux, it’s probably a GTK issue.

Can you try to create a new profile and try again? Also which Gtk theme do you use?

It works with a new profile, but that is because the new profile has a light theme instead of a dark theme. The gtk theme, as near as I can tell, is adwaita-dark. I have my colors preference for nightly set to use my custom selected colors, always. When entering this text, the text box is black, and the font is black, so it doesn't show. I can select it with the mouse by holding down the left mouse key in order to see it. Or, as I have done, I can change my colors preference to never, and it then shows white text on a gray background. My custom selection is gray text on a black background, but for some reason the gray setting gets ignored.

I did the new profile test again, but I changed the colors settings in the preferences to match my default profile. And the problem occurs. I went to vimeo.com, and brought up the login screen. It came up black for user, and when I typed, my text didn't show. Just like here in the mozilla bugzilla.

I've seen some changes in nightly in the last few days, and sometimes they have helped, and sometimes they have hurt. Some selection boxes are now showing the selection. And there is faint gray text in some previously black text boxes. But, at a site that used to work fine, the text now appears in black in black rectangles, instead of showing up in the text entry box with the background color of the text box. So, a mixed bag. I assume these are indications that this is a harder problem than it appears to be.

It's still not working properly here in the bugzilla entry text box. I have to switch nightly preferences to always use the website color scheme in order to enter text. And switch back to using my custom color scheme when done.
