Details

The left column in the Preference UI, titled Category, is completely blank. This
prevents you from changing any of the preferences except the one that comes up
by default, which is the Appearance Pane.

This is new with a 100808 M11 build on at least Linux and Windows.

yes, this was a different problem with tree widgets last week
Bulk move of all Pref UI component bugs to new Preferences component.  Pref UI 
component will be deleted.
