User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0
Steps to reproduce:
Hi,
We used Windows 7 x64 with Thunderbird x86 on our company, and we have pdf form with send by email button. That means the user fill the form, press the button, and the form is autoatached to an email with subject and destination filled.
But now we are migrating to windows 10, and we installed thunderbird x64 (68.1.1 ESR)
Actual results:
when we use the pdf form and press send button, Acrobat reader DC (last version) says there is no default email program ....
We have check on Start menu -> default programs that thunderbird is set as default mailto and all email protocols and options.
Expected results:
We have tested that if we use thunderbird x86 (ver 68.1.1 ESR) it works on the same windows 10. But with x64 thunderbird not. So, does anyone know a solution to make x64 default email program be reconognice by acrobat ?

Hmm, LibreOffice recognises the 64bit version. You could see whether bug 1509918 has some useful information.

Thanks, but we-ve tested that and that option is checked on thunderbird, even more, if we unistall thunderbird x64 and install x86 it works fine, and if we unistall the x86 and install x64 again, it fails with the same error, Thunderbid x64 is not reconogniced as default email program.
I think is a installation problem, it doesn't integrate properly on system.

Agreed, but you misunderstood me. Bug 1509918 suggests some registry manipulation which you could explore.

Using Adobe Acrobat Reader DC on Windows 10, version 2020.013.20074, with Thunderbird 85.0b3 (64-bit), I am unable to us the "Send file by email" feature from Adobe.
Thunderbird does not seem to be recognised as default app.
Other people have reported to me that the feature stop to work recently for them recently, I am trying to gather info on their environment...
Could either be Adobe or Thunderbird issue possibly...
I found the following online that may suggest similar issue happened in the past and that it was fixed via a Thunderbird update.

At the end of the post, someone mentions it does not work with 78.x version either.
At the moment I am not able to confirm if this only happens with x64bit version of TB.
Using File Explorer > Send To > Mail Recipient works fine though...

Other people have reported to me that the feature stop to work recently for them recently,
That was reported by Ben (for my reference) on Microsoft Windows 10 (x64) 2004 [Version 10.0.19041.746], with Acrobat Reader DC version 2020.013.20074 and Thunderbird version 78.6.1 (32-bit). TB was last updated 15/01/2021, and Adobe 14/12/2020.
Strangely File Explorer > Sent To > Mail Recipient cause Thunderbird to close and quit without crash report.
If you try again, nothing happens, TB does not open.
Tried to switch default mail app in Windows settings from TB to Mail and back to TB, but same issue.

Following upgrade to most recent TB ESR 102.x...

Not resolved :-( Likely an Adobe Acrobat DC issue...
Strangely File Explorer > Sent To > Mail Recipient cause Thunderbird to close and quit without crash report.

Resolved. But for some reason the opened app, and opened email do not appear in front of all existing opened Windows so you don't see it, until you minimize all other windows first... or activate it in the task bar... which both are not user friendly or intuitive... and it feels like nothing had happened... but at least now TB is no longer crashing and the feature works... "more or less"...

I've seen recent updates of Edge wrangle back PDF control from Acrobat DC on my own machines. I do sometimes have to right-click a PDF file and go through the Open With > Choose Another App re-association process again to slap Windows back into line. Give that a try as well Richard.
