the domain name multiprecision.org does not resolve (at the time of writing). this causes build failures when a fetch against an mpc binary is attempted.

i have today emailed the mpc mailing list asking if there are plans to correct the domain resolution.

if not, i have seen that the mpc binaries referenced by our source code are also available (with matching sha256 sums) from:

• https://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/mpc/mpc-1.0.3.tar.gz
• https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+archive/primary/+sourcefiles/mpclib/0.8.2-1build1/mpclib_0.8.2.orig.tar.gz

the multiprecision.org website still appears to exist at: http://185.233.100.48

looks like the mpc folks are going to fix the domain: https://lists.gforge.inria.fr/pipermail/mpc-discuss/2019-September/001526.html

so, probably nothing to do here.

this morning i see that the domain resolves again
