User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:69.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/69.0

Steps to reproduce:

Open Thunderbird with add-ons gContactSync and Provider for Google Calendar enabled.

Actual results:

Thunderbird opens but the today panel flashes up as main page opens but immediately disappears off the right of the page. Pressing F11 will cause it to appear but it then fails to read calendar events. Starting Thunderbird in safe mode them restarting in normal mode fixes the problem but on the next restart the fault behaviour returns. Having either or both add-ons enabled cause Lightning to malfunction. Calendar and Events are still both available via the toolbar buttons and funtion as expected. Both versions of the add-ons are the latest and updated.

Expected results:

Thunderbird should open with the today panel showing on the right of the screen as normal.

Does it work without those two add-ons? Is there one that causes the malfunction in particular?

Dell XPS 15 i7 Windows 10 1703

Same issue here, but I don't have either of those extensions. My temporary fix is

  1. Disable Lightning and restart.
  2. Re-enable Lightning and restart.

The next time I close and reopen Thunderbird, the problem returns. Windows 10, version 1903.

Lightning seems to function normally on its own. Installing either or both of these add-ons cause the problem to occur.

Unfotunately your workaround doesn't work for me as it my problem seems to revolve around the installed add-ons

Try the version from bug 1560547 comment #49.

Windows 10
Thunderbird win32 68.1.1
Provider for Google Calendar enabled.
Calendar itself is ok, but Today Pane useless.
On start of Thunderbird Today Pane flashes and disappears.
Requires a double click to open and it is void of entries and date function not working.
This is the same regardless of whether Calendar tab is open or closed.
I believe there is a possible fix due with Lightning 68.1.2

Better with version 68.2.1 ?
