Steps to reproduce:
In TB 70.0b2 (64-bit), upon startup, I can see list of new email coming in on screen... but when I click on a new message that has arrived.
Actual results:
The content of the message is not loaded in the preview pane, it remain blank until the network calendars (eg CalDAV) synchronization has completed (items populated in UI) which can take minutes...
Expected results:
The content of the message shall appear immediately as normal... I should not have to wait for calendar loading to complete... the calendar loading shall run in "background" without affecting end-user ability to read email messages at all time...

Observed with an IMAP/SMTP account mailbox.
