Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.14; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0
Steps to reproduce:
Highlight text with mouse cursor and then press Ctrl+F (Command+F on Mac) to search on page.
Actual results:
Nothing special, last searched term was already in the search bar.
Expected results:
Highlighted text should be put in the field to search for similar words on the page. It's a useful feature on most IDEs and text editors, and highlighted text can already be immediately searched on the web via context menu.
Actually it looks like the issue is only on macOS, and is reproducible on a new install of 69.0.2.
I'm on Mojave, but I'd like to know if I'm the only one affected, as it would seem strange that no one else noticed.

Hi,
I have managed to reproduce this issue on latest FF release (69.0.2), Beta 70.0b12 and latest Nightly build 71.0a1 (2019-10-07) using Mac OS X 10.14.
On windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 the issue is not reproducible.
Thanks for the report.

This is not common behavior on MacOS; normally you'd select text, press CMD+e, which will copy the selected text to the special find clipboard and when you open the find toolbar, it'll show that text.
