Details
From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X; en-US; rv:1.1a+) Gecko/20020711 BuildID: 2002071108 I changed my default e-mail address, and now all my templates stored in Local Folders > Templates don't work as templates. When I double-click on a template, rather than opening in a compose window, it opens in a message window (non-editable). I then have to Edit Message As New (works, but not as convenient as if templates worked right), or reply/forward (which loses the formatting). Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Change default account to a new e-mail address. 2. Open a template saved in Local Folders > Templates. 3. Actual Results: Template opened in message viewing window. Expected Results: Template should have opened in compose window.

not a mail database issue. My guess is that the folder is no longer marked as the template folder, and you need to go into the account settings for local folders and specify the templates folder as the templates folder.
Component: Mail Database → Mail Window Front End

You're right, that was the problem. When I changed the mail account then the templates folder lost its designation.
