We would like a new version to ridealong in a potential future dot release, but need to ensure that v6.1.0 will not replace the newer version.

6.1.0 shipped with 69.0.2, so it's safe to disable the rule from Balrog now.

Could we just update the Balrog rule to only apply to version <69.0.2?

Actually... that would affect Fennec, and we don't want 6.2.0 on Fennec to be overwritten by 6.1.0.

(Unless there's a way to only point that rule at Desktop...)

Updates for 68.* are handled by a different rule than 69.* so there shouldn't be any issues there. Speaking of Fennec, though, should bug 1586188 have an ESR68 approval request too?

I have updated the rule to apply to <69.0.2 instead of <70.

This is still pending relman signoff in Balrog to go live.

Rehan, how should we handle ESR68 at this point? We'll want to make sure users updating 68.2esr in a couple weeks don't get downgraded from 6.2.0 to 6.1.0 either. I guess we can either add another rule or just update the blob?

We can do a similar update to the rule on the ESR channel so that it targets only <68.2

I've added rules for ESR < 68.2 and updated it so we are only shipping to release < 68.2
