User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:69.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/69.0

Steps to reproduce:

I'm forced to manually delete the "junk" flagged messages from my inbox. Junk folder remains empty.

Actual results:

Thunderbird returns a long error message when I try to put something in "Junk" folder:
The current operation 'inbox' did not succeed. The mail server for account Sonic IMAP responded [TRYCREATE] Mailbox doesn't exist: INBOX.junk

Expected results:

Items flagged "junk" should automatically appear in the "junk" folder sub to the email inbox.
The "junk" folder should be clearable via deletion of its contents.
Neither function is working.

Junk should not be a subfolder of Inbox.
Are you using a non-English version of Thunderbird?

Summary: The "junk" feature is no longer working. Items flagged "junk" appear in my inbox and are unable to be moved to the Junk folder. → Messages flagged "junk" appear in my inbox and are unable to be moved to the Junk folder.

Junk is a subfolder of Inbox. This is the default setup ever since I first installed Thunderbird. It only stopped working @ a week ago. Yes it is English.

It stopped working a week ago. Did some upgrade happen then? You can check your upgrade history.

Current upgrade is 60.9.0, automatically installed 9/16/19

I can see the status messages in the bottom left corner of the TBird window as email is downloaded. At the end of the process, the usual message "x messages being moved to junk" appears, but the (flagged) junk messages remain in my inbox and are never moved to "junk." This is obviously a problem on Thunderbird's end. I've been a satisfied Thunderbird user for fifteen+ years.

Any fixes from the developers?

Does Inbox.Junk folder have the flames icon signifying the Junk folder?

Flags: needinfo?(bariton)

Yes, the inbox.junk folder has a flame icon since it was installed.

Clicking on the icon produces the message "The current operation 'inbox' did not succeed. The mail server for account Sonic IMAP responded [TRYCREATE] Mailbox doesn't exist: INBOX.junk"
