Have we reproduced this behavior on Fenix or Reference Browser? This sounds Firefox for Android specific.

(In reply to Kevin Brosnan [:kbrosnan] from comment #2)

This issue is not applicable for the Fenix browser because, after the clear data, the account is not saved in the browser.

This is a Fennec bug, not a GV or Fenix bug. Moving this bug back to Fennec's Bugzilla component.

I can reproduce the problem using Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 (Android 5.1) - x86 on Beta 68.3b2.
Notes:
- On Desktop (windows 10 - x64) it seems that after tapping on the "Start browsing" button, it redirects the user to the https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/accounts/.
In my opinion, this behavior should be the same for Android devices.
