Affected platforms
- Windows 10 x64
- Ubuntu 18.04 x64
- Mac OS X 10.14
Steps to reproduce:
Scenario A:
- Start Firefox with a clean profile.
- In 4 different tabs open this site:
https://senglehardt.com/test/trackingprotection/test_pages/fingerprinting.html - Change the date on your computer 3 days ahead.
- Open the site from step 2, in different tabs, until the Fingerprinting panel is displayed.
Scenario B: - make sure to reset the date
- Start Firefox with a clean profile.
- In 4 different tabs open this site:
https://senglehardt.com/test/trackingprotection/test_pages/fingerprinting.html - Close Firefox
- Change the date on your computer 3 days ahead
- Open Firefox and open the site from step 2, in different tabs, until the Fingerprinting panel is displayed.
Expected results:
In both scenarios - the same number of tabs should be opened to see the second fingerprinting panel.
Actual results:
In scenario A - step 4 the panel is showed in the first tab while in scenario B step 5 - the panel appears in the 4th tab.

I think this is expected, since your "first tab" in scenario A is actually the fifth tab since Firefox launched, right?
I would say this bug is invalid.

Yes, it is the 5th tab loaded in that session, but by setting the time ahead with 3 days, I would have expected a "reset" when it comes to seeing the door hanger. Or the appearance of the door hanger only after the 4th-page load is only happening per Firefox session?

The page load is per session, it isn't related to date/time.
