Details

(Whiteboard: [addon: Filelink provider for Dropbox])

STR:
Go to add-ons manager. Search for, for example, Spanish dictionary.
I page appears with a selection of Spanish dictionaries.
Click: Add to Thunderbird.

Nothing happens, but there are plenty of errors in the console:
TypeError: this.checkbox is undefined popupnotification.js:59:9

Works OK in TB 68.

Alice, can you find the regression for us please.

Actually, you can just download the dictionary and try to install it from a file, that doesn't work either. BTW, that works in TB 70 beta, so it must be a recent regression.

OK, you can't install add-ons from a file either. So over to Geoff.

Summary: Can't add dictionaries to TB on trunk → Can't install add-ons on trunk

Version 71.0a1
Build ID 20191017094502
User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Thunderbird/71.0a1

It seems OK for me.

STR

  1. Start daily71a1 with new profile
  2. Add a valid pop3 email account
  3. Install a Spanish (Spain) Dictionary from https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/search/?q=spanish

Actual results:
I checked both method.
3-a. directory installed from TB tab
3-b. installed from xpi file
The dictionaries seems successfully installed.
i.e,
The dictionaries appears in addons manager.
"Spanish (Spain)" appears in Languages list of context menu on compose window. And it is selectable. And "Mañanna" will be corrected to "Mañana".

Strange, yes, working now on a new profile. No idea why the "regular" testing profile doesn't work. I'll do some digging. Sorry about the false alarm.

Hey Geoff, seems to be caused by the Dropbox add-on, unless I'm missing something.

No problems here, with or without the Dropbox extension.
