Steps to reproduce:

Launch Firefox, from dock or Applications folder. Go to a webpage with a hyperlink or text. Make Firefox fullscreen with the macOS window manager. Secondary click on a hyperlink or selected text.

Actual results:

No prompt appears.

Expected results:

A prompt should have appeared with several different options including copy/paste/open in new window, etc...

Right click doesn't work from a bluetooth mouse either. It does work in the separate window that is not fullscreen.

Could you clarify what you mean by macOS window manager?

Whatever the stock window manager it includes is. Fullscreen is via pressing the little green button for fullscreen

I was asking because this does not reproduce for me. Is there anything else that may be different about your system? Are you using external monitors? Any software that changes the behavior of full screen? Does this reproduce in other apps such as Safari?

Strange. This is a new issue (started after I upgraded to Catalina) and only impacts Firefox (tested with safari and it doesn't happen). It happens when the laptop is by itself or when I have an eGPU with another screen plugged in. Besides the Catalina update there have been no recent software additions.

Unfortunately, I'm also unable to reproduce on Catalina with the latest release of Firefox (69.0.3).

Even further, on my setup, when I make the external monitor the primary display, and maximize the Firefox window on the mac's built in display, right click kinda works. Upon the first right mouse click it displays the right click options, but in a zoomed in manner on the external display (the right click was on the built-in display so it is on the wrong display.) Further, upon clicking again, it now shows up on the built-in display, and is sized correctly.

I have this issue in Firefox 75 with MacOS Catalina 10.15.4
As soon as I activate the full screen it is impossible to have the contextual menu! Ridiculous and unacceptable for a modern browser not wanting to fix this bug.

I've started having this problem again. It happens both in and out of full screen, and now even the downloads button is non-functional. Catalina 10.15.4 and Firefox 75

The workaround is setting Firefox on Mac to "No monitor".
On Mac when Firefox is set to a certain workspace or monitor, and is located in another workspace (or external monitor) or full screen: the bookmarks menu and the context menu do not work.

I've been working on bug 1592416 and we don't have a fix available yet, but it looks like the eventual fix will address this bug too.

I'm going to close this as a dupe of bug 1592416. The fix for bug 1592416 being tested now and in code review appears to address this problem.

When Firefox is assigned to a single space with the Dock icon "Options->Assign To" menu, we have to override that assignment to display popup menus in the correct space wherever the parent window is. macOS appears to implement full screen applications as their own space so it makes sense the fix would apply to full screen.

Once bug 1592416 is fixed in Nightly, if this bug is still reproducible, it can be reopened.
