STR:

  1. Visit https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2019/10/28/the-invention-and-reinvention-of-impeachment
  2. Look at the drop caps in the first letter of the article's first paragraph (a capital "B" in "Bird-eyed Aaron Burr..."

EXPECTED RESULTS:
The top of the B should be aligned with the top of the rest of the line.

ACTUAL RESULTS:
The top of the B is significantly lower - it looks like it might even be aligned with the bottom of the line.

Chrome and Edge give EXPECTED RESULTS.
Firefox Nightly 72 gives ACTUAL RESULTS.

I'm testing on Windows 10, if it ends up mattering.

Reduced testcase, using the newyorker.com-hosted Adobe Caslon font (the font used in the article):

Maybe this is bug 290125 or bug 1058203? I found that changing the line-height doesn't affect the layout of the floating ::first-letter.

Severity: normal → S3
