Steps to reproduce:

Composing an email, would like to spell check my text, didn't find any dictionary after upgrading to version 68.
Adding a dictionary doesn't take any affect. Opening the add-on page of a dictionary works, also downloading. Thunderbird says that the dictionary was added successfully but it doesn't show up in the dictionary list in spell check.

Actual results:

No spell check is available therefore. A dictionary in spell check can't be selected.

Expected results:

A composed email should be spell checked automatically and adding different dictionaries should be possible.

The good news is: Spellckeck is working 100% in TB 68. There was an issue in earlier version of TB 68, so make sure you have the latest version 68.2.0.

Make sure you have the correct dictionaries installed. Go to "Tools > Add-ons, Dictionaries" and check it there. If in doubt, remove all dictionaries and install them again.

I'm already using Thunderbird 68.2.0 and have installed my used dictionaries a few times again, every time they won't show up in the dictionaries list.

Hmm, are you installing them from a file stored on your PC? You need to download them again from addons.thunderbird.net since "old format" dictionaries don't work any more.

I now got it to work. I uninstalled once again all spell checking displays and also my language packs and reinstalled them. After rebooting it now works. Thanks for helping!
