RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1590888

(Reporter: fun.note8540, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0

Steps to reproduce:

  • Enable automatic client ("personal") certificate selection in Preferneces->Privacy&Security
  • Add more than one personal certificate
  • Open a HTTPS website that requires a client certificate

Actual results:

The HTTPS website fails to open with an error:
"Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to login.consol.de. Peer does not recognize and trust the CA that issued your certificate. Error code: SSL_ERROR_UNKNOWN_CA_ALERT "

Expected results:

The website should open, just like it did in FF 69.0.3.

Note that switching to manual client certifcate selection in FF 70.0 brings up the certificate selection dialog on visiting the same HTTPS website, and after manually selecting the correct client certificate allows to open the page without any issue.

I have the same issue albeit on Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0
