User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0

Steps to reproduce:

Ever since Firefox updated to version 70.0 multiple websites fail in various ways.

Actual results:

Dynamic elements do not load/fail, accounts.firefox.com claims cookies or local storage are deactivated.

On the Privacy Protections window, clicking Manage Devices brings me to https://accounts.firefox.com/cookies_disabled
They are not disabled.

Opening reddit or accounts.firefox.com in a private Window they work as expected, and as before.

Disabling all addons and disabling enhanced tracking protection on reddit.com does not change the issue. It still exists.
On one specific subreddit it seemed to load the form, and seem to work. While any other I have visited since, including frontpage, do not load.
Deleting some session cookies did not help either.

On GitLab the diff view fails to display line-coloring and highlighting.

A lot of other websites seem to work fine.

Expected results:

Websites should continue to work as before and as expected

Then i turned "dom.storage.next_gen" to false in about:config, and it seemed to do the trick, now i could interact with pages in normal windows too.

Setting dom.storage.next_gen to false fixed it for me as well.

I can not find any information on this setting? What is it? Why is it not documented (where I can see it)?

Depends on: 1592136
Component: Untriaged → DOM: Web Storage
Product: Firefox → Core

Duping to the LSNG-in-70 disabling.
