Chenxia, we initially requested the mobile activation ping to accurately count new installs on distributions. Unfortunately we accidentally set the data collection to six months. We're looking to extend it indefinitely now.

The activation ping is an important tool for BD when making deals with distributions. It allows us to accurately count the number of clients activated on those channels, so we ensure that we aren't paying too much money.

Hey, sorry about the delay here.

I've bumped this collection again, so the short-term solution should be fine.

For permanent collection, we need to add some tests for the probe, to make sure it doesn't break (because no one will be checking on it again). I'm not entirely sure how we would do tests for telemetry right now, so it's possible it's something that we need to add.

We're on a tight deadline right now, so we could file this and revisit it later once it's prioritized.
