Details

If you type a search term (not a URL) into the location bar and hit enter,
Mozilla tries to find it as a URL and returns the following error: "The URL is
not valid and cannot be loaded." This behaviour is not ideal (IMO) but also not
a bug.

However, after receiving this error if you hit the down arrow to bring you to
the "search" option you receive the same error. If you had not hit enter the
first time, it would have searched correctly.

i.e.: type "something to search" into the location bar. Press enter. Press
enter again to dismiss the dialog box, then click in the location bar to return
the focus there. Press down two times to that the "search" option is
highlighted, then press enter. This *should* initiate a search, but instead
returns the same error.

Now open a new window, type "something to search" into the location bar, press
down, then press enter. It will now search on the phrase "something to search".

On my system this search is done in google.
I think this is a dupe.
found it. btw, this already happens in linux.
