Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; Win64; x64; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0
Steps to reproduce:
Me? Not so much, but unfortunately the FF update channel (currently using 70.0.1 distro) did the bad trick...
Actual results:
...rendering useless almost every extension installed (including AdBlocker, Weather, AV's, Web Radios, Translators and many more)!! In addition, FF displays the usual Ad-block DB update window on each browser start-up :-(
Expected results:
Really, dunno what happened, but noticed this malfunction since the latest update (70.0.1). Maybe it has something to do with "Upcoming changes to extension sideloading" as I have read on mozilla blog or some new API restrictions...
Well, to be honest (and please forgive me for mentioning this), I feel [and all the affected users/developers] like I am taking part in some kind of ...experiment, each time a new update is released (plus remembering the huge certificates mess that affected all the extensions/add-ons in the past).
I am looking forward to a solution and you guys, PLEASE, do something about this, so that it won't happen again in the future - thx, in advance ;-)
Hello honorable,
Please forgive me for my late reply...
After the last FF update (71.0) I have uninstalled the affected Extensions/Add-ons and replaced them with similar that work flawlessly, so that there is not any really need to dump about:support data...
So far, so good :-)
But, thank you very much for your immediate response & feedback - I really appreciate it!!
Of course, I will keep you informed if I have any updates on that issue.
Best regards,
