Details

The new n2-standard-16 instances are >18% faster than our current custom-32-36864 instances in GCP. Before we start moving workloads over next week, we should upgrade to the faster instance type.

Working on a patch now.

I reached out to Google today to ensure that they will have enough capacity in us-central1 to support our workloads on n2. Waiting to hear back from them.

I heard back from Google. They don't have sufficient capacity in the n2 instances yet to meet our peak load demands.
