From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.1b) Gecko/20020721 BuildID: 2002072104 When trying to view the source of a message with some significant binary attachment, the text in the source window doesn't show the complete message. I need to see the complete message source to debug some issues with my MIME encoder script, especially the closing MIME boundary. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. send yourself a message with some large attachment 2 [details] [diff] [review]. wait until the message arrives 3. Select View|Message source 4. scroll to the end and see the missing MIME end boundary
This attachment is an email from Netscape 7.0 - it doesn't show the full source of the email.
Here is the viewsource of the same email from Netscape 4.79.
The prior attachments were from reading the email from IMAP. I will now attach (a slightly better, but still truncated) view mail source from a local folder.

still truncated attachment, although less truncated.
By the definitions on <http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/bug_status.html#severity> and <http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/enter_bug.cgi?format=guided>, crashing and dataloss bugs are of critical or possibly higher severity. Only changing open bugs to minimize unnecessary spam. Keywords to trigger this would be crash, topcrash, topcrash+, zt4newcrash, dataloss.
Severity: normal → critical
Possible dup: Bug 140960 (View Source shows truncated message content)?

WORKSFORME with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8b2) Gecko/20050303 (Win-2K), when mail size is 700KB, which is plain text mail with two JPEG file attachements and held in local mail directry. I didn't test on very large mail such as larger than 2GB or 4GB. Too all problem reporters: Does problem still remain?
I'm currently not using Mozilla anymore, but Thunderbird. The problem doesn't occur there (anymore).

(In reply to comment #9) > I'm currently not using Mozilla anymore, but Thunderbird. > The problem doesn't occur there (anymore). I hit it in Thunderbird version 1.0.6 (20050716) for Mac OSX. Only the trailing MIME boundary was missing.
