Seen on linux redhat 7.3, jre 1.4.1 beta (netscape branch build: 2002-07-26-06-1.0.0) 1. Lanuch the above build (CHOOSE RECOMMEND INSTALL, do not select JAVA) 2. After the installation is done, go to jave site to install jre 1.4.1beta 3. Go to Tools > Web Development > Java Console Notice the IO error 9 occurs in the terminal. 4. Go to the url above, it also genenerates the same error. NOTE: if I use the same build, but I choose "CUSTOM INSTALL", that means Java is already selected, it 's jre 1.3.1_02, then it works fine without having problem. Looks like it's jre 1.4.1 problem. I am ccing Rob as well.
Below here are the errors in the terminal: INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Exec of "java_vm" failed: 2 System error?:: No such file or directory Gdk-ERROR **: Fatal IO error 9 (Bad file descriptor) on X server :0.0. INTERNAL ERROR on Browser End: Could not read ack from browser System error?:: Resource temporarily unavailable
>System error?:: No such file or directory That indicates to you copied the plugin or the symlink is wrong.
I tried today's trunk build with JRE 1.4.1, WFM. Patty, after you installed jre 1.4.1, how did you set it up? Just make a symblic link as follows in "plugins" directory: ln -s ../j2re1.4.1/plugin/i386/ns600/libjavaplugin_oji.so
Thanks Joe, I don't know my linux system, but I tried again today, it worked. wfm.
