User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0

Steps to reproduce:

I imported my bookmarks from Vivaldi and firstly I couldn't find how to display them in the Bookmarks Toolbar. I managed to copy and paste them in Bookmarks Toolbar by selecting the whole content of my imported folder.

Actual results:

It displayed only one folder containing the bookmarks instead of all the bookmarks in the Toolbar.

Expected results:

My imported bookmarks folder should be automatically expanded and all bookmarks should be displayed in the Bookmarks Toolbar.

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.

That doesn't sound particularly useful to most users.

I don't see an option to import data directly from Vivaldi. Did you export your bookmarks to HTML in Vivaldi, then imported that into Firefox? In that case the imported bookmarks are placed under the Bookmarks Menu folder. Bug 1431376 is about reconsidering that behavior, which I think this is probably a duplicate of, given the Expected Results.

Even if importing bookmarks into existing folders with the same name (bug 526958), that wouldn't be enough since Vivaldi's equivalent of the Bookmarks Toolbar is simply called Bookmarks:

<DT><H3 ADD_DATE="1496843234" LAST_MODIFIED="1564399950" PERSONAL_TOOLBAR_FOLDER="true">Bookmarks</H3>

It displayed only one folder containing the bookmarks instead of all the bookmarks in the Toolbar.

Use the Library to move whatever bookmarks and folders you want into All Bookmarks → Bookmarks Toolbar. See the Bookmarks in Firefox support article for details. If you have more than one folder by that name, make sure it's the one with a star icon on it.
If you've already done that, enter about:support into the address bar. Scroll down nearly to the bottom and click the Verify Integrity button. Wait a while for the check to complete, then copy and paste the entire output into a comment here.

This is something we discussed already, but it's a very complicate thing to do, because it requires rethinking and refactoring the whole bookmarking system.
My idea was to have a single root containing all the bookmarks, and being able to set a folder as the bokmarks toolbar. That is pretty similar to what you are asking, it's interesting that someone (Vivaldi) is already doing that.

I'll keep this around, because it was one of the things we had in mind.
