After recently upgrading to TB 71.x beta branch (currently on 71.0b3 64bits), I noticed that auto-completion lookup for contact when composing new message had drastically slow down, everytime I type a character I have to wait for 8-10s for the suggested contact to appear and be selectable... also noted that when opening addressbook, my LDAP addressbook do no longer appear as LDAP addressbook... and when searching for a name it takes 8-10sec for result to appear...
As I checked my Address book server settings in options, those appears to be empty, but as check in Options > Advanced > Config editor, the settings are still there and present and usable... but no longer editable via the Options > Composition > Addressbook LDAP server settings page/UI... see attached print screens...
No errors, warning, logs, debug or info appears in the Dev Tools > Error console...
The lookup still works, but always slow/delayed somehow... connection to LDAP server is fine... also used for email... no particular issues...

Richard what is the current state of this issue for you?
I can see improvements yes... in 78.0b4 (64-bit)... see details below...

... everytime I type a character I have to wait for 8-10s for the suggested contact to appear and be selectable... also noted that when opening addressbook, my LDAP addressbook do no longer appear as LDAP addressbook... and when searching for a name it takes 8-10sec for result to appear...
Now I can type two three character in a row and get answer in 2-3 secs... if I add another character after what I already type the next result take about the same amount of time... so I noticed Not Responding couple of time when testing but that could be linked to my other issue with TB (slowing down over time as memory build up)...
As I checked my Address book server settings in options, those appears to be empty, but as check in Options > Advanced > Config editor, the settings are still there and present and usable... but no longer editable via the Options > Composition > Addressbook LDAP server settings page/UI... see attached print screens...
I still can't see my LDAP addressbook settings in the TB UI via Options > Composition > Addressing > Edit Directories
None listed while my LDAP addressbook is still accessible and usable :-)
Still few things to fix...

No errors logged in tools > error console?
How about with beta 90.0b2 or newer, which has ldap implemented in js?

Unfortunately, I can no longer check because my LDAP addessbook access has been ceased, so I had to remove my LDAP addressbook access from TB.
