When composing an email and entering recipient name, Umlaute are not found

Steps to reproduce:
Sine Thunderbird Version 68, compose message, enter recipient by (display-) name (Anzeigename in german) - and not by email
Actual results:
In Thunderbird 60 everything worked fine, since upgrading to Thunderbird 68, when I want to compose a message, I enter a name from my addressbook (not an email address) in the recipients field, and when I type letter after letter, a shrinking list of matches is displayed, unitl I reach an Umlaut (ä, ö or u), and I get no more matching recipients, even though the name exists exactly like I wrote it.
Expected results:
In the previous Versions of Thunderbird, Names with Umlaute are displayed just fine.

Hmm, in TB 68.3 (pre-release) I can't reproduce this. I have this AB entry: Kai Wasserbäch <kaw@heise.de>. I can type wasserbä or just bäch and everything works. That is the exact AB entry you're trying to use?
