User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0

Steps to reproduce:

Since the last update the mouse overs on the top bar only work on the few lowest pixels of the tab bar. This includes the 'new tab' + button and the 'list all tabs' button.

See video included.

Actual results:

When hovering over the cross to close a tab, or the name of a tab, it doesn't register the mouse over event such as displaying the name of the tab or hovering state of the cross. However, it does display this only when hovering the bottom portion of the entire bar.

Expected results:

It should just display the full name of a tab or the mouse over effect on the full area of the entire bar.

Hey ohmarinus,

I can't reproduce this on MacOS 10.13. Could you please try this out with your addons disabled?
If there are any important customization made, please let me know, might be very important in help to reproduce the issue.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. I am on 10.10.5 (14F2511) and even when starting FF with addons disabled it doesn't fix the issue. I have also tried a reboot, no difference. The issue started happening a week or two ago at max.

Anything else I can add to the issue?

It's not life-threatening of course. And I can still click the tabs and crosses all over the area, the mouseover/hover feature just doesn't work. It 'feels' weird, messes with the intuitive experience of Firefox.

If this didn't happen long time ago, could you please use mozzregression and hopefully find the patch that caused this issue?
Here is how you can do that: https://mozilla.github.io/mozregression/quickstart.html

Before doing that, one last thing would be to create a new profile and see if it can be reproduced there: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles
Please do this before going into the mozzregresion.
Thank you for you availability in investigating this matter!

Closing this as resolved:incomplete for now, if you can still reproduce this on the latest Firefox version, please follow the instructions from Comment 3 and re-open the issue with the needed information. Thanks!
