From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.79 [en] (Win98; U) BuildID: 2002053012 I am using Mozilla 1.0. It does not load the webpage at http://webpac.npl.org/ nor the one at http://151.198.102.25/webclient.html both of which are easily handled in NC 4.79 and IE 6. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Visit the website at http://webpac.npl.org/ and/or http://151.198.102.25/webclient.html Actual Results: I got a series of messages in the browser window. The status line then indicated the loading was done although nothing of the webpage was actually visible. Eventually, the status line said "Applet webclient notinited (sic)." That probably should read 'not inited', which is yet another error, though very minor. Expected Results: Display the website and process the Java applet as happens in NC 4.79 and/or IE 6. The two websites use Ameritech's Dynix library cataloging system, which is in place at over a thousand public and university libraries across the United States. If it doesn't work for the two sites given, it probably won't work anywhere else.
WORKSFORME, but you must have the correct version of Java installed (and it must be enabled in Preferences->Advanced), or Mozilla won't work correctly with it.
Warren, I'm glad it works, but the Java version is a show stopper for me. I have Java enabled in Mozilla 1.0, but my system only has Java version 1.3.0_01 installed, the only one that has Microsoft's blessing, at least for W98. I see from the Sun Java website that 1.3.0_04 is still available, along with the latest 1.4.0_01. However, I am leary of upgrading as others have advised against it based on their own bad experiences.
wfm with win2k build 20020730.. and JRE1.4.1beta -> wfm Reporter: Please update to JRE1.4.x This is a bug in the Java plugin and it's already fixed in later Java versions.
