160063 - better distinction between active and inactive tabs

My typical browser contains on average 16-25 tabs. And because of that
I have problems to find the appropriate tab because the text on the tab
is to short.

Sugestion(s):
- mozilla gurus, please make tabs colorized  or
- attach to the tab a "tolltip" ( spelling ??) which will contain
  the complete text of the tab. This "tolltip" should automagically appear
  when the mouse is over the tab or, perhaps, when you move from tab
  to tab with ALT+left/right arrow key selectable in "Preferences"

Please, always add your build ID for each bug that you submit!

I think that the color idea would be horrible, and I can see a tooltip with the
full title of each tab when I place the mouse over them.

Yes.. you are right.. tooltips are there...  the problem is that it takes
almost a second before they appear...  so.. when I go __fast__ from tab to tab
I do not get them...

what about keyboard navigation ?
 (CTRL arrow keys), (ALT arrow keys) and (SHIFT arrow keys)  are already used
for other keyboard navigation

Any other suggestion for tabed browser switching from keyboard ?

one more thing:

Yes, I agree that colorized tabs are not good...  but can you( I mean mozilla
hackers)  make
the active tab a little bit more visible... for example highlighted ?
When you have a lot of tabs in the browser it is not easy to spot which one
is activated.

and please file a Themes bug against a specific theme (classic|modern) if you
want them to have a more pronounced active state.

given that most of your suggestions/questions were shot down and that you
essentially withdrew the summary suggestion => wontfix

it seems to me that it is everyday more and more difficult to find a bug
in mozilla...  _______which____is_____good____news______ !!!
(this was my 62nd bug report in the last 3-4 years...  and is seems, at the end,
it is not a bug )

BTW: does anybody know how to make tooltips faster to appear for the tabs ?

The TAB for the active browser was lighter on 1.1b (or, perhaps, non active
tabs were darker).

This was very nice enhancement. It was very easy to see which TAB is active,
specialy in case of 10+ TABs.

The final version 1.1 does NOT have this feature anymore.

Why not ??
