Steps to reproduce:
Sign in to sync
Actual results:
"Everything will sync momentarily"
Expected results:
Allow me to choose not to sync certain things -- including passwords -- before syncing. I have no way of knowing if any passwords got sent before I got to the preferences.

Thanks for the report! We do show a special "choose what to sync" screen for users who are creating a new account in order to set up sync, but this is not shown for users who are signing in. Could you please confirm whether you had an existing Firefox Account that you created for some other purpose, but were signing in to Sync for the first time?

We have a tracking bug for this issue in Bug 1572344, but I don't want to close this as a duplicate of that one without being sure you're describing the same thing.

Just to expand on what Ryan said, the choice about what to sync is an account-level setting - so if you signed in to an existing account, this device will use the same choices you made when you created the account. Similarly, if you now change these choices on this device, you should find they change on all connected devices.

I do have an account to publish addons.
I can't remember if I've ever used sync before.

Thanks for confirming! I'm going to go ahead and dupe this to Bug 1572344, which is currently being investigated for product/UX implications and which we hope to work on from an engineering perspective sometime in the first half of the coming year.
