I can't reproduce this with beta on a Mac.
Walt, can you reproduce?

I always start Thunderbird with the Mail and Calendar tabs open.
Selected my Bugzilla folder in the Folder pane, Calendar, opened the Chat tab, this email in a tab, AOM tab and the Troubleshooting Information tab .
Quit Thunderbird.
Launched Thunderbird and the Calendar tab appeared at the end of the tab bar.
If I add the Tasks tab in step 2 above, it is at the end of the tab bar.
This with 68.5.0 on Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS.
I also can not reproduce the problem using the same tabs in Thunderbird 73.0b2.
