We are using a Debian server that has about 12 users logging into it at the same time via LTSP. With Thunderbird 45 we are not having this issue, but upgrading to Thunderbird 60.7.2 does have this issue. What happens is when a user starts to type an email address in the To field on a either a new message or replying/forwarding, Thunderbird freezes/hangs up their desktop session. I can ssh in the server and kill their thunderbird process and then their desktop works fine again. Its occurring randomly on 4 sites with same server/ltsp client setup, same version of OS and Thunderbird. We are using LDAP and their Thunderbird uses local personal and collected AB's as well. The freeze/hang issue occurs when typing the name of local and/or ldap address.
I've read many of the bug reports that are similar to this but not exactly. I tried looking at the Crash Reports folder but I don't see anything recent in there.
Is there a solution?
Thank you.

The hardware is ARM64?
I did not know Thunderbird ran on that hardware. Maybe you meant x86_64.
Can you update to the current 68.3.0 version and see if that fixes your problem? I don't think the developers are putting any effort into fixing bugs for version 60. Ubuntu has updated to 68.2.1.

Version 60 is no longer supported. A better starting point is version 68
