tested on 2002-07-29-01-1.0 Linux Redhat JA 7.3 1. Select File/Open then select any file 2. From URL bar, drag & drop icon in the most left in URL bar onto desktop 3. You will have file copy dialog, but can't create a shortcut Occurred only on Linux. Mac OS & Windows have no problem.
I can confirm this bug on a linux mandriva (LE2005) system.
Patrick: what version were you testing? This worksforme with a branch build running under gnome.
Problem still exists with version 1.0.7 and I'm running a KDE 3.4.2 on Mandriva 2006
What about 1.5 or current trunk?
Same, no different behavior.

Patrick, Time for an annual checkup :) With current trunk do you still see this? http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/latest-trunk/ (FWIW I don't see any likely dups, expired or otherwise)

And I'm sorry to say, It hasn't been fixed. Sorry for that. I used the trunk from 14 nov. Version 3.0a1 with Mandriva 2007 (KDE 3.5.4) Maybe next year ;) Patrick
