User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:70.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/70.0

Steps to reproduce:

Just open Thunderbird and choose the Date Text Format option of Long. There is no option for using day names in the date format other than 'Long'

Actual results:

All dates are shown using the full length name of the day - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc.

Expected results:

To some extent, this IS what may be expected but.... some versions ago, by default, day names in Calendar (Lightning) used the abbreviated form - Mon, Tue, Wed - everywhere that the day name appeared -- a very sensible approach given the amount of information to be shown in a limited space. However, with changes to the way Thunderbird interacts with locale, now all day names are shown full length making columns in views having to be unnecessarily wide. Either return to using abbreviated days by default (even though the setting is called 'Long') or add an Abbreviated option in the date format -- as exists in every locale definition file anyway!
