User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0

Steps to reproduce:

Zoom into the page, then click on the % bubble located in the address bar to get back to 100%.

Actual results:

Distorted resolution rendering
(in the screen shot provided, main wrap should be much narrower for the iphone 6/7/8 rendering)

Expected results:

100% click should have reset the tools and page resolution.

Thanks for submitting this bug to us.

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue on my end, I've tried it on Windows 10 both with Firefox Release 71.0 (64-bit) and Firefox Nightly 73.0a1 (2019-12-16) (64-bit)

Could you check if this occurs to you while using a new profile? You can find the steps to do that here:

Can you please download Firefox Nightly from here: https://nightly.mozilla.org/ and retest the problem and see if the issue still occurs there as well?

Hi Clara,

It is still happening even in Nightly, so I suspect it will happen with a new account.

Here I demonstrate it better maybe.. (in nightly not signed into an account).

How it should look.. tools at the top regular size: <attachment2 [details] [diff] [review]>

After licking on the gray bg area in the window then ctrl+scroll in to zoom 150% (notice the tools got bigger): <attachment3 [details] [diff] [review]>

After clicking on the 150% bubble in the address bar (The tools do not go back to regular size so the window doesn’t shrink to the proper width either): <attachment4 [details] [diff] [review]>

Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help better explain this phenomenon.

Note, there have actually been two behaviour changes since Firefox 67:

• In Firefox 67 and earlier, pressing the "%" button in the address bar to restore the zoom level to 100% had correct behaviour in RDM.
• In Firefox 68 and 69, pressing the "%" button has no effect apart from making the button itself disappear. This was regressed by bug 1541158.
• In Firefox 70 and later, pressing the "%" button has the buggy behaviour described here. The window for this change points to bug 1572840.

Ah, I just realized that the steps to reproduce are using ctrl-scroll, which is emulating a mousewheel zoom. We have a bug open for that and I'm marking this bug as a duplicate.
