Details
User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:68.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/68.0
Steps to reproduce:
One of our web applications provides Word templates (* .dotx). If the templates are opened directly from Firefox, the templates are opened in edit mode (* .dotx) instead of a document (* .docx).
Actual results:
This behavior only shows up in version 68.3.0 ESR but not in Firefox 71.0 and 68.2.0 ESR. The direct call and the call via downloads shows this behavior.
Expected results:
A call through other browsers or through the Windows file explorer or older Firefox versions 68.2.0 ESR will open the Word template (* .dotx) as a document (* .docx) correctly.

Hi,
Thanks for the details. I was able to reproduce the bug on Windows 10 on 68.3.0esr (32-bit). There's definitively a difference in behaviour between nightly and esr.
I've chosen a component. If you consider that there's another component that's more proper for this case you may change it.
Best regards, Flor.

I believe this is a duplicate of bug 1597963. If so, this should be fixed in 68.4 (not yet released) - can you test https://firefox-ci-tc.services.mozilla.com/api/queue/v1/task/Jgm3CRDMQ_-3E4wvwTFM-w/runs/0/artifacts/public/build/target.zip (64-bit) or https://firefox-ci-tc.services.mozilla.com/api/queue/v1/task/UUu26AE0T_SNYb33pkW7NA/runs/0/artifacts/public/build/target.zip (32-bit) and see if the issue is fixed?

(In reply to :Gijs (he/him) from comment #2)
I believe this is a duplicate of bug 1597963.
This had some context missing - see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1602726#c13 as to why I think that.

We tried to reduce the error with Firefox (68.4). The new Firefox version fixes the bug.
