Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.15; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0

Steps to reproduce:

Mac OS v10.15.2, Firefox v71.

Clicking a link from a desktop email client (like Spark or Mail) when Firefox is NOT running.

Actual results:

Causes Firefox to launch 2 windows. A separate window for the link's destination with ONLY the Firefox menu choice (no File, Edit, etc menu choices), and the normal startup window (I have pinned tabs), with full menu choices. The window with the link's destination is sent behind the normal startup window.

Expected results:

I can recreate by quitting Firefox and clicking a link from multiple desktop clients.

Sorry. Expected results would be link's destination to be in a new tab in the normal startup window, which is what happens if the link is clicked WHILE FF is running.

Hi,

Thanks for the details. I was able to reproduce on MacOS 10.14.5 on Firefox Nightly version 73.0a1 (2019-12-12) (64-bit) and Firefox release v71.0

I've chosen a component. If you consider that there's another component that's more proper for this case you may change it.

Best regards, Clara.
