Steps to reproduce:

  1. Visit https://gutenberg.org/ebooks/49561.
  2. Select the HTML file.
  3. Switch to Reader Mode.

OR

  1. Visit: https://gutenberg.org/ebooks/37839
  2. Select HTML file.
  3. Switch to Reader Mode.

Actual results:

For the first ebook, Reader Mode only shows text from Chapter XVII onwards. The other chapters are entirely missing in Reader Mode.

For the second ebook, the Author's Preface and Introductory Memoir are missing.

The problem also exists on Firefox for Android 68.4b1.

Expected results:

The entire text should have been displayed.

Bugbug thinks this bug should belong to this component, but please revert this change in case of error.

It's even worse now with Firefox 82.0b9 on Linux.
Only the last few pages are now shown in Reader Mode.
