Details
The bookmark file is saved each time you quit, even if nothing has been changed, not even viewed in the Sidebar. Several other files in Application Support also. Build 0731.

Mine are not (.6). In fact Chimera creates a new fresh profile every time I quit, and I loose any bookmarks I created.

Brad: that is a serious problem (but not this bug). Can you give more details -- location of your home directory, and how you quit?

I did file a bug report on the profiles (179767), but no one has responded. This behavior still happens in build ID: 2002111804. I usually quit with a command-Q. My home directory is in "Brad Kemper's Computer:Users:" so my profiles are in "Brad Kemper's Computer:Users:bkemper:Library;Application Support:Chimera:Profiles"

They are going to get saved, no matter how you save. Why is this a problem?

Are you asking me why it is a problem that every time I quit an additional profile is added to my profiles folder, and every time I start Chimera I don't have any of the bookmarks or history or prefs or cache or anything I recorded in my last session? Because that is what's happening to me.

That's not what this bug is about. You want bug 179767. I was asking why saving bookmarks on quit is an issue.

Ignoring the "disappearing profile" problem (which is in another bug) - I don't think this is even an issue anymore, and if it is, it's not worth worrying about.
