User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:71.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/71.0

Steps to reproduce:

1. Open Firefox in normal mode.
2. Open a new window with kiosk mode (firefox-bin -kiosk --new-window https://mozilla.org)
3. Close the kiosk mode window
   4.1 Fullscreen a the first window and exit fullscreen or
   4.2 Open a new window

Actual results:

4.1 The original non kiosk mode window is now in kiosk mode (tabs and url bar hidden)
4.2 Kiosk mode window opened

Expected results:

4.1 Working as before (as a normal window)
4.2 Non kiosk mode window opened (tabs and url bar are visible)

For the context. I would like to use the kiosk mode to open single page applications like a normal application (slack, discord, spotify, etc) without a new profile.
I created this ticket because it looks like a bug, but basically this (1283670) feature request constantin what I want to do. If the --app mode is solve this sorry for the unnecessary ticket.

PS: I created this ticket from Linux with Sway/i3wm.

Hi,
thanks for the details.
I was able to reproduce on Windows 10, MacOS 10.14.5 and Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS on Firefox 71, 72 abd Nightly version 73.0a1 (2019-12-20) (64-bit).
I've chosen a component so that the issue is reviewed.

I see similar behaviour, though not exactly as described above. After I close the kiosk window with Alt+F4 then the normal window still looks normal, except I can't right-click anymore, the status line is gone when hovering over links, and pressing F11 keeps it stuck in fullscreen (Esc or F11 not working to get back). I have to close Firefox and restart to make it useable again.

I can confirm this bug is still active, although I'm having the same behaviour as Maik.

I'm using Firefox Developer Edition 89.0b3 on Arch Linux with kernel version 5.11.16-arch1-1
