It seems that the text cursor (caret) location reported by Firefox is frequently ahead of the actual text cursor.
You can reproduce the issue using MS Inspect and Firefox 71.0 (64bit) in Windows 10.
Try typing text in the Google search field. The yellow marker is ahead of the text cursor line.
Another good example is the advanced search in ebay, the “Exclude words from your search edit field”. In this case the yellow marker is to the right of the actual text cursor not only when typing, but also when moving the text cursor  with the arrow keys.

I haven't looked into this myself yet. However, there was some discussion about our caret location being incorrect in bug 1504963. See bug 1504963 comment 17, bug 1504963 comment 20 through bug 1504963 comment 25.
