1605428 - Does not remove Lightning or Program Provider for Google calendar extensions when restarting.

Steps to reproduce:

Opened Add Ons manager/selected Remove
Wording changes as states the extension will be removed on restart
Closed Thunderbird, waited 10 seconds and restarted.

Actual results:

Upon restart the extensions are still there in a yellow hew stating that they will be removed upon restart.

Expected results:

The extensions should be removed.

I have tried to remove these extensions repeatedly with no success.
My version is actually: 68.3.1 (32-bit)
I will try removing and reinstalling Thunderbird to see if this will remedy the problem.

did it help? (I would expect not - reinstall doesn't affect profile data)

No it did not fix the problem.
I have since upgraded to Windows 10 Pro and the Thunderbird app is working again. Upon the next restart the two apps were finally deleted.
Not sure what changed or why.

I've deleted the Provider for Google Calendar extension for a switch to the Google CalDAV calendar, restarted Thunderbird with Add-ons Manager still open in its tab, and would see that the extension would be deleted after closing the tab.

Opened the AOM tab again and it was gone.

Just removed the ImportExportTools NG extension as a test. After the restart I see "ImportExportTools NG will be uninstalled after you close this tab." in the AOM tab. Closed the tab, reopened the tab and it was gone.

bug 1629459 is a recent regression - but would it still help this issue?

If you don't use addons or engimail you might try version 78 in two weeks, available from https://www.thunderbird.net/en-US/
Calendar will be built in, so it's addon will no longer be needed.
Please post your results with that, or your current state, whichever path you take.
